Analysis and control of the symmetry breaking wakes behind an Ahmed body by Large Eddy Simulation

Abstract

The wake behind an Ahmed body is calculated by LES and different types of control are applied, in order to act on the symmetry of the flow and to reduce the drag. POD is used to compare the numerical results with experiment and to analyze the spatial organization of the flow.
