The input of the system is a set of keywords, together with temporal user-specified boundaries. The output is a timeline graph showing at the same time the chronology and the importance of the events concerning the query. This requires natural language processing and information retrieval techniques, allied to a very specific temporal smoothing and visualization approach. The result can be edited so that the journalist always has the final say on what is finally displayed to the reader. %G English %2 https://hal.science/hal-02407152/document %2 https://hal.science/hal-02407152/file/16_07_10_NLPJ_Chronologies.pdf %L hal-02407152 %U https://hal.science/hal-02407152 %~ CNRS %~ UNIV-PSUD %~ LIMSI %~ UNIV-PARIS-SACLAY %~ UNIV-PSUD-SACLAY %~ SORBONNE-UNIVERSITE %~ SU-INF-2018 %~ SU-TI %~ LISN %~ GS-ENGINEERING %~ GS-COMPUTER-SCIENCE %~ LISN-AMI %~ COMUE-UPSACLAY %~ ALLIANCE-SU
